Downhearted Blues

This is a cover of Son House's classic; but the music is 100% original, much like Clapton's covers or Zeppelin covers.... of course, it sounds more like Zeppelin : ).

Appreciate comments even though it isn't in a battle!

Horsepower

Holy Bandamp hiatus Batman! Okay, now that i have your attention... this song was recorded a few months ago, but I didn't get around to converting it until yesterday.

The drums are mojomonkeymusic loops. The bass and guitars are myself.

I would appreciate comments on the general quality.

Btw, stick around until the end of the song... there's a suprise!

Pickup

Raw power-chord rock. And it's got vocals! The drums are FL Studio 5.0.

I sang the song, played the guitars, and wrote the music, as well as co-wrote the lyrics (my brother wrote most of them).
Here are the lyrics, if you can't tell:

Careful!
Campin' out!

Camp out on the mountain, in free air
All creation's burnin', and we dont care
Feel the freedom, its all around your head,
oh yeah!

See the signs, cause no one here is aware,
that all the hunger in the world, will never scare
No all your tools will never, never scare,
nowhere!

If you care, I'll explain the message behind the lyrics. Just ask. However, I'm really interested in comments about the vocals, or the music.

Stink

This track has everything... except vocals. Feel free to skip around after listening to a bit of intro.
here are the (relatively) interesting parts:

1. 0:40 -intrumental chorus
2. 1:46 -breakdown/solo

i know there are problems with this track... but i want to see what you catch! feel free to make a list and be specific ( "dude, that sucks," doesn't qualify as specific, but if needs to be said...)

soon i will be recording at a new site, on a new computer, etc.
Thanks everyone!

Taj Mahal

An instrumental experiment with Middle-Eastern music. From my older files, done about 2 years ago. I play lead guitar, a friend of mine played (and created) the rythm part. Very simple, kinda trippy I guess.

Tried to work in some microtones!

I PROMISE, my next few posts will have vox.

I need a Formatter, so I can format and post my .ogg files as .mp3s!

Taj Mahal pt. II

The second part of the instrumental Taj Mahal suite. Gets trippy! Short and sweet.

(This song was recorded about a year ago, but I finally decided to upload it.)

The Dial

A soft, major-key, 3-part acoustic harmony on guitar, with vocals by a friend named Andrew. The lyrics are from a Ralph Waldo Emerson poem, and are out of copyright. The music was all written by me.

Comments on vocals welcome... not mine, so be as harsh as you want!

Acoustic with vocals, a departure for me... One guitar track until solo, where two guitars play.
Lemme know what you think, and please rate!

The Louvre v.1.1

JBP spruced up the guitar files I sent him, and then I applied his techniques to the vocals as well... altogether making the song much more accessible and listenable...

read his posts on compression, normalizing, etc.!
